NAS & MF DOOM: NASTRADOOMUS PART 2
Back before Danger Mouse changed the mash up
game with his Grey Album (which has aged quite
well in the years), MF Doom was crafting some
absolute gems with his Special Herbs and Blends
series. From Erykah Badu to M.O.P., Doom crafted
remixes that strangely felt familiar and some cases
outshines the original. They were so good that
Ghostface re-used a few of these instrumentals for
his Fishscale album. It was Doom’s Nastradoomus
however that really solidified Doom’s remix project
with a full album of Nasir tracks re-dubbed with
Doom’s neck-snapping grimey beats. Well he’s back
again with more remix goodness with
Nastradoomus pt 2, another collection of album cuts
mixed in with the mainstream stuff that all seems to
blend so seamlessly. Now if only Doom could get going
on some solo stuff. In the meantime check out this
reworking of the classic Illmatic joint It Ain’t Hard To Tell.
