CUT COPY X THE BLACK KIDS - UNION CITY BLUE (BLONDIE COVER)

TRAVIS BARKER X DJ AM - FIX YOUR FACE

RADIOHEAD at work on new LP

Radiohead has confirmed to the BBC that they are
in the writing process of their ‘In Rainbows’
follow-up. Ed O’Brien and Colin Greenwood have
mentioned in and interview with the BBC that they
just started messing around in between tour of the
U.S. and Japan, but it’s really taking off. No word
on when the new L.P. is due but this is certainly good news.

LUDACRIS & 9TH WONDER IN THE STUDIO

Uh Oh…I thought 9th Wonder wasn’t doing
mainstream Hip-Hop records anymore due
to their content. I guess that theory went out the
door when Luda called asking for some of that heat
for his new project, Theatre Of The Mind. Peep the
above clip to see the two creative geniuses at work
in the studio. Oh peep the K-Ci & JoJo video
they laughing at, shyt is ridiculously wild LOL

OriginalFake X Star Wars Storm Trooper KAWS companion release

Certainly one of the most highly sought after vinyl
releases of the year, OriginalFake gets prepared to
drop the much anticipated Storm Trooper Companion
to the public. As previously anticipated, OriginalFake’s
Tokyo flagship store will carry the figures with a
strict limit of 1 per person.

Another Termanology track off his album Politics
As Usual
which is dropping September 30th. This
one’s produced by Alchemist and has none other
than Prodigy on verse 2. The production is the grimy
New York gangster music we’ve come to know and
love from Alchemist.

JEAN GRAE - SHADOWS FOREVER

There has been some commotion in past few
months about Jean Grae retiring from Hip Hop.
All that speculation can stop now because Jean Grae
has just released a new track produced by Blue
Sky Black Death entitled, Shadows Forever.
She goes in on this track like a beast. “The Evil
Jeanius” in stores September 30th.

NOTORIOUS (MOVIE TRAILER)

One of the most influential hip hop artists of our time,
Christopher Wallace aka The Notorious B.I.G. will
have a movie based on his life coming out this January
16th. The film stars multiple award winner Angela
Bassett as Christopher’s mother Voletta Wallace,
Derek Luke as Sean Combs, Anthony Mackie as
Tupac Shakur and introducing Jamal Woolard as
The Notorious B.I.G. Can’t help but wonder how
things would be right about now if Biggie was
still around. Check out the trailer.

NAS & MF DOOM: NASTRADOOMUS PART 2

Back before Danger Mouse changed the mash up
game with his Grey Album (which has aged quite
well in the years), MF Doom was crafting some
absolute gems with his Special Herbs and Blends
series. From Erykah Badu to M.O.P., Doom crafted
remixes that strangely felt familiar and some cases
outshines the original. They were so good that
Ghostface re-used a few of these instrumentals for
his Fishscale album. It was Doom’s Nastradoomus
however that really solidified Doom’s remix project
with a full album of Nasir tracks re-dubbed with
Doom’s neck-snapping grimey beats. Well he’s back
again with more remix goodness with
Nastradoomus pt 2, another collection of album cuts
mixed in with the mainstream stuff that all seems to
blend so seamlessly. Now if only Doom could get going
on some solo stuff. In the meantime check out this
reworking of the classic Illmatic joint It Ain’t Hard To Tell.

YUKSEK

Yuksek is one of the most consistent producers
around. He tends to stay away from trends and
flex his versatility on everyone from Van She to
Primary 1 to Chromeo to Mika to Ghostface Killah.
it's not too bass-y, not too distorted, not too indie,
it's just right.

Yuksek - I like to play
Kaiser Chiefs - Never miss a beat (Yuksek remix)

hot off the heels of his Ghostface Killah remix,
he's keepin it Wu-Tang and reworking U-God and
making it work in his own unique way... chopping
and pitching up the vocals, injecting a solid bassline
and leaving his own french touch all over it.

u-god - ugodzilla (yuksek remix)

SHARKSLAYER

and dj push-ups.

sharkslayer - so sincere

OriginalFake X Star Wars Storm Trooper KAWS companion preview

Having worked on a Darth Vader interpretation last
year, KAWS once again teams up on a special collabo
project with the legendary Star Wars series. Detail
are dim, but it is rumored this Storm Trooper piece
will be available at the OriginalFake store in Tokyo
much like last year’s was spotted in the flagship store.
Stay tuned for further news on this release.

Here's a couple of tracks by Cryptonites, enjoy!
cryptonites - revolver disco
cryptonites - hands of god

KAISER CHIEFS - NEVER MISS A BEAT (CUT COPY REMIX)

Cut Copy (pictured above) come through with an
epic remix for UK indie rockers Kaiser Chiefs.
Cut Copy provide a driving percussion-heavy rhythm
with that always so irresistable disco hihat on the
off-beat, a deep classic dance bassline, lots of blurred
bleeps and filter sweeps and the ultimate climax is
the classic house piano dropping in after two thirds
of the track. This whole new context makes the vocals
sound all eighties new wave.

VIBE Magazine 15th Anniversary ADIDAS Forum High

To celebrate VIBE Magazine’s 15th year in business,
VIBE Magazine has collaborated with Adidas for a
pair of adidas Forum High’s. Although the colors are
subtle, VIBE Magazine’s effort on this sneaker is
clearly top notch. Not only do they use an awesome
pattern on the stripes and laces but the use of
snakeskin and ostrich textured materials blends it
all together. The shoes will go on sale September
15th, 2008 with only 1,500 pairs available through
shopadidas.com.
